Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about buying, selling, and consigning watches with Vivere.

Buying

Are all watches guaranteed authentic?

+

Yes — every watch is personally inspected and verified before listing. I won't sell anything I have any doubt about. My reputation is staked on it, and with over 3,300 five-star reviews, that's not something I take lightly.

Can I see more photos or a video of a specific watch?

+

Absolutely. Just reach out and tell me which piece you're interested in. I'm happy to send additional photos, detail shots, or a short video. No obligation to buy.

Can I negotiate on price?

+

I price fairly based on real market data, so there isn't much room for dramatic negotiation. That said, I'd rather have a conversation than lose a good buyer over a small gap. Reach out and let's talk.

Do you offer any kind of return policy?

+

I handle this case by case. Because I describe watches thoroughly and honestly, returns are rare. If something was misrepresented — which shouldn't happen — I'll make it right. Reach out and we'll talk.

What if the watch I want isn't in your current inventory?

+

Use the Find a Watch page to tell me what you're looking for. I have access to the WatchTrack dealer network — inventory from hundreds of trusted dealers worldwide — plus a personal network of collectors. I find a lot of things that aren't publicly listed.

Do you offer a Trade-In Trade-Up program?

+

Yes. If you buy a watch from me, I guarantee its trade-in value for 12 months from the date of purchase — as long as the watch is in the same condition it was sold in. So if your tastes evolve or a new piece catches your eye, you can trade up without worrying that your watch has lost value. Just reach out and we'll work through the details.

Do you charge sales tax?

+

I don't charge sales tax. That said, buyers are responsible for understanding and complying with their own local and state tax obligations. If you're unsure, I'd suggest checking with a local tax professional.

Selling

How do I get an offer on my watch?

+

Fill out the form on the Sell a Watch page or just reach out directly via phone, email, or text. Tell me what you have, send some photos, and I'll get back to you quickly.

How fast will I get paid?

+

For direct purchases, payment is arranged before or simultaneously with the watch transfer. You won't be waiting. For consignment, payment is processed via wire transfer or Zelle once the watch sells and the buyer has confirmed receipt.

What payment methods do you use when buying my watch?

+

Wire transfer or Zelle for direct purchases. Both are safe, fast, and traceable — which protects both of us. Credit card acceptance is coming soon.

What kinds of watches do you buy?

+

Primarily luxury Swiss watches — Rolex, Omega, Tudor, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, IWC, and similar. Not sure if yours qualifies? Ask — I'll always give you an honest answer.

Consignment

What's the difference between selling and consignment?

+

When you sell directly, I buy your watch immediately — you get paid right away, usually at a lower price. Consignment means I sell it on your behalf and you receive a higher amount when it finds a buyer, minus a commission. The Sell a Watch page has a side-by-side comparison.

What is your consignment commission?

+

My commission tiers are: 15% for watches under $5,000 · 10% for watches $5,000–$20,000 · Flat fee (negotiated) for watches over $20,000. I'll be upfront about everything before anything is agreed to, and you'll know exactly what you'll receive when the watch sells.

How long does it take to sell a consigned watch?

+

It depends on the watch and pricing. Desirable pieces at market price often sell within weeks. More niche or vintage pieces may take a bit longer. I'll always give you a realistic expectation upfront.

Can I get my watch back if it doesn't sell?

+

Yes. If you want to end the consignment for any reason, we'll arrange the return of your watch. The consignment agreement will spell out the specific terms.

How does consignment payout work?

+

Once your watch sells and the buyer has confirmed receipt, I send your payment promptly via wire transfer or Zelle. No waiting weeks for a check to arrive — you get paid as soon as the transaction is complete.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept when buying from Vivere?

+

Currently: wire transfer and Zelle. Credit card acceptance is coming soon — I'll add it as soon as it's live. I don't accept PayPal for watch transactions.

Why no PayPal?

+

PayPal's buyer protection policies make it impractical for high-value watch sales — chargebacks can be filed even on legitimate transactions. Wire and Zelle are safer for both parties, with no risk of a frivolous dispute months after the sale.

Is it safe to buy a watch online?

+

With the right person, yes. I take steps to protect both parties — clear agreements, verified payments, insured FedEx overnight shipping, and real documentation. With over 3,300 five-star reviews, people have trusted me with significant purchases for years. That track record means everything to me.

Do you offer any payment plans or financing?

+

Not at the moment, but it's worth asking — I'm open to working something out on a case-by-case basis for the right situation. Reach out and let's talk.

Shipping

How do you ship watches?

+

All watches ship fully insured via FedEx overnight, with signature required on delivery. I don't cut corners on shipping — these are valuable items and they get treated accordingly.

Why FedEx overnight?

+

A watch sitting in a warehouse or on a delivery truck for days is a watch at risk. Overnight delivery minimizes transit time and exposure. Combined with full insurance and signature confirmation, it's the safest way to move a valuable watch.

Do you ship internationally?

+

On a case-by-case basis. International shipping involves customs, duties, and added complexity. Reach out and we'll figure out if it makes sense for your situation.

What happens if a watch is damaged in transit?

+

Everything is fully insured. If something goes wrong in transit, we file a claim together and you're made whole. This is exactly why I insist on proper insurance on every shipment.

WatchTrack & Inventory

What is WatchTrack?

+

WatchTrack is a dealer management platform built specifically for watch dealers. It manages inventory and provides a live, embeddable display — which is what you see on my Inventory page. Everything is real-time. It also connects me to the inventory of hundreds of other trusted dealers worldwide, which is invaluable when I'm sourcing a specific watch for a client.

Is the inventory page truly live / up to date?

+

Yes. The inventory display is pulled directly from WatchTrack, which I update in real time when watches are added or sold. What you see is what's available. No stale listings, no "sorry, that already sold."

Can you find a watch that isn't in your inventory?

+

Often, yes. Through the WatchTrack network of dealers plus my personal collector contacts, I can access far more inventory than what's listed on my page. Use the Find a Watch page to tell me what you're hunting and I'll get to work.
